Synonyms:
IRF-2, IRF2, MAR, DKFZp686F0244, Interferon regulatory factor 2.

Introduction:
Interferon regulatory factor 2 is a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. IRF2 competitively inhibits the IRF1-mediated transcriptional activation of interferons alpha and beta, and presumably other genes that employ IRF1 for transcription activation. However, IRF2 also functions as a transcriptional activator of histone H4. IRF2 binds to the upstream regulatory region of type-1 IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class-1 genes (the interferon consensus sequence (ics) and represses those genes.

Description:
Interferon Regulatory Factor-2 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 133 amino acids (1-113) with a His Tag of 20 aa, and having a molecular mass of 15 kDa.
The IRF2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
