The HER2 / CEN17 FISH Probe is designed to quantitatively determine HER2 gene amplification on slides. The HER2 probe covers a region of 248kb on chromosome 17, which includes the entire HER2 gene. The CEN17 probe, as a control, is derived from chromosome 17 specific alpha satellite DNA.
The HER2 probe is labeled with a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 546nm and an emission peak at 575nm, giving it a red fluorescent signal under fluorescence microscope with appropriate filters.
The CEN17 probe is labeled with a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 502nm and an emission peak at 527nm, giving it a green fluorescent signal under fluorescence microscope with appropriate filters.
